Educate Together

Educate Together is an independent NGO that runs schools

  • that guarantee equality of access and esteem to children “irrespective of their social, cultural or religious background”,
  • are child centred in their approach to education
  • are run as participatory democracies, with respectful partnership between parents, pupils and teachers.

The first Educate Together school was opened in Ireland in 1978. There are currently over 65 Educate Together schools in operation in Ireland.

Donabate Portrane and Balbriggan are two Educate Together Schools in Fingal. Both schools teach the  Learn Together subject and teach topics such as Human Rights, Belief Systems and of course International Development! The Cambodian Partnership and this website can be used to enhance the teaching and learning in both schools.

DPETNS have had a Cambodian Committee in operation since 2013 while Cecelia Gavigan from Balbriggan joined Micheal and Colm from DPETNS out in Cambodia in July 2014.
